Yamaha Drives Community Spirit at 3rd Annual Coweta Grand Prix

Apr/25/2025

The Coweta Grand Prix 2025, presented by Yamaha Motor Manufacturing Corporation of America (YMMC) in Newnan, just held its 3rd annual event with much success this past weekend thanks to the efforts of many Newnan and Coweta County volunteers, mentors, sponsors, and participants. YMMC has been a key partner and driving force in making this fun event a success.

Over 50 YMMC employees volunteered their time, supporting both the Downhill Dreams Academy and the day-of Grand Prix event, showcasing Yamaha’s deep community engagement. YMMC sponsored 16 students from the Boys & Girls Clubs® to participate in the Downhill Dreams Academy, giving them hands-on experience building and racing their own soapbox cars.

“Best in Show” was awarded to the adult Yamaha Team, highlighting the creativity and craftsmanship of YMMC’s employees. In addition, in the Pee Wee Division, one student from the Downhill Dreams Academy, mentored through Yamaha’s support, took first place in their race!

YMMC’s involvement in this event continues to inspire young minds, promote STEM education, and strengthen community relationships through service and sponsorship.

A big One Yamaha congratulations goes out to the YMMC team that dedicates their time, expertise, and passion to the kids and community with their involvement in this event every year!

Yamaha Motor Manufacturing Company (YMMC) employs more than 2,000 metro Atlanta residents to design and build recreational vehicles at its Newnan manufacturing facilities. All of the world’s Yamaha golf cars, Side-by-Sides, as well as most of its WaveRunners and ATVs are manufactured at the plant in Coweta County, Georgia.
